Abraham-Vater Prize awarded to Dr. Jannis Duhn
Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein:
Congratulations: Dr. Jannis Duhn from the Department of Surgery at UKSH, Lübeck Campus, has been awarded the Abraham Vater Prize by the German Pancreas Club. The prize recognizes the best clinical study presented at the club's annual meeting.
This award-winning study focuses on a rare form of pancreatic cancer – invasive mucinous cystic neoplasms. The research team investigated which factors are important for the further course of the disease. The analysis shows that early and complete surgical removal of the tumor significantly improves the chances of long-term survival.
The study is based on data from clinical cancer registries in Germany and was conducted in cooperation with the Association of German Tumor Centers (ADT Network). It was carried out in collaboration with PD Dr. Rüdiger Braun under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Tobias Keck. Congratulations to Dr. Jannis Duhn and the entire team.
