Alanya Education and Research Hospital:
As part of the events for Cancer Awareness Week from April 1st to 7th, the Alanya Training and Research Hospital opened an information stand at the hospital entrance to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and diagnosis.
On the occasion of today's event, Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Banu Karakuş Yılmaz said:
“We remain committed to educating the public about cancer types, symptoms, treatment methods, and prevention. Raising public awareness is one of the most effective measures in the fight against cancer. After cardiovascular diseases, cancer is one of the leading causes of death. However, I would like to emphasize that many cancers are treatable and, with early detection, even completely curable. Worldwide, prostate, lung, and colorectal cancers are most common in men, while breast, lung, and colorectal cancers are most common in women. Early detection is our strongest weapon in the fight against cancer. Many cancers, such as breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers, can be detected at an early stage thanks to regular screenings. This significantly increases treatment success rates. Remember: tomorrow could be too late. Early detection saves lives. We will continue to monitor your health and are always there for you.”
