Shaping the future – female engineers report on their practical experiences with Carla Matthäus.
What does the daily work of a civil engineer really look like? In this episode of our series "Shaping the Future – Female Engineers Share Their Experiences," our graduate Carla Matthäus offers personal insights into her work as a self-employed energy consultant. She talks about her passion for renovating and modernizing existing residential buildings instead of demolishing them, and why working with existing structures is particularly fulfilling for her.
Carla explains why she decided to become self-employed early on, how varied her workday is, how she manages construction sites, project work, and business management, and what role her civil engineering studies at our university play in all of this.
