With the law to stabilize statutory health insurance contributions, Germany is facing one of the most extensive cost-cutting programs for statutory health insurance in decades. At the same time, the planned introduction of primary care, the reorganization of emergency care, and the practical implementation of hospital reform in the federal states will bring about profound structural changes in the healthcare system.
What impact will the reforms have on healthcare? How will the working conditions of employees in our healthcare system change? How can healthcare structures be designed to be sustainable for the future? The 130th German Medical Assembly, taking place in Hanover from May 12 to 15, 2026, will address these and other current healthcare policy issues.
