Prof. Dr. med. Ilker Y. Eyüpoglu:
Honored to have been invited as one of the main speakers at the Central European Pituitary Meeting in Prague.
This meeting brings together exactly the disciplines that define excellence in modern pituitary and skull base care: endocrinology, radiation oncology, and neurosurgery. Discussions at this level make one thing very clear: outstanding skull base surgery is never accidental. It is built on experience, judgement, anatomical precision, technical mastery, and the ability to choose the right strategy for each individual patient.
In skull base surgery, the task is not simply to remove a lesion. The real standard is higher: to navigate some of the most delicate anatomy in medicine, preserve function, minimize risk, and achieve the best possible outcome with maximum precision. That has always been the principle guiding my work.
It was therefore a particular pleasure to contribute my perspective to such a high-level interdisciplinary forum. Invitations like this are more than a professional honor. They are also a sign that surgical quality, clinical experience, and academic credibility are recognized well beyond one’s own institution.
My special thanks go to my friend David Netuka, who co-organized this excellent meeting. Dear David, thank you for the invitation, the warm hospitality, and for bringing together such an outstanding group of colleagues in Prague.
Prague once again showed that the future of pituitary and skull base surgery belongs to those who combine interdisciplinary thinking with true surgical excellence.
