On March 26th, we celebrated the anniversary of the developmental psychological counselling service for families with young children in Berlin - a key service for parents that was developed and established as an important component in various support systems even before the start of the Early Intervention Services.

We were able to delve deeper into Ute Ziegenhain's interesting retrospective during breaks and at the reception with Hellgard Rauh, who, as one of the very few female psychology professors at the time, did pioneering work in the developmental psychology of early childhood from the late 1970s onwards.

Gottfried Spangler, with his fascinating lecture from a bio-psycho-social perspective, illuminated the complex interplay of genetics, physiology, psychological predispositions and social context in early childhood, and I was able to discuss, against the background of familial change, the tasks involved in strengthening family relationships.

The final flourish before the reception was provided by the panel discussion of many renowned partners who highlighted progress in services for families in the early developmental phase of children, but also emphasized the demanding needs of highly stressed families who depend on particularly well-qualified professionals and effective, well-coordinated services.

Today, the city and state, together with the Rostock-Wismar Student Union, opened a new student residence building.

This is the first phase of the new building extensions at the residential complex on Max-Planck-Straße. The second phase, scheduled for completion by 2028, will add another 126 places.

Approximately 30 million euros will be invested in the expansions. The state and federal governments are contributing around 16 million euros.

A forest fire broke out in Brusio on Tuesday afternoon. Several firefighting helicopters and firefighters are deployed to combat the flames. The RhB railway line is closed until further notice, and a rail replacement bus service is in operation.

The report of the forest fire, which covered an area of ​​approximately two square kilometers between Campascio and Viano, was received on Tuesday at 3:40 p.m. Firefighting operations resumed on Wednesday morning after several fire watches were established throughout the night. In addition to the Brusio fire department and the Graubünden cantonal police, five helicopters from Swisshelicopter and Heli Bernina, as well as a Super Puma helicopter from the Swiss Air Force, are involved in the operation.

Extraordinary airspace closure

To avoid hindering firefighting efforts, the Federal Office of Civil Aviation BAZL (FOCA) ordered an extraordinary airspace closure until Thursday evening. Due to the risk of rockfall, the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) had to be closed. The road to Viano, about 200 meters from the fire, is also currently closed. Residents can reach the valley via the forest road. As a precaution, the nearby power line was switched off overnight; Viano is being supplied with electricity via a generator.

On 7 March, law enforcement and police forces across the world will come together in remembrance, honouring the service and calling of police officers everywhere and paying tribute to the women and men who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

INTERPOL has invited its member countries to stand together in marking the international day of remembrance by illuminating their most significant national landmarks in blue, the INTERPOL blue of global policing.

National ceremonies on the day include moments of silence, the lowering of the flag, the laying of wreaths, and the reading of the names of fallen officers.

Across time zones and all continents, from small communities to global capitals, coordinated acts of remembrance are being held, including the illumination of iconic landmarks in INTERPOL blue...

Hundreds of buildings including police headquarters, government ministries, and notable civic structures are also being lit in blue across the world to mark the remembrance.

Across countries and continents, flags will fly at half-mast, and police forces will mark the day with commemorative events reflecting their traditions and cultures, united by a shared respect for duty, loss, and the commitment by police officers in keeping others safe.

The scientific team, which conducted research on the White Continent as part of the 10th National Antarctic Expedition under the patronage of the President, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and coordinated by the TÜBİTAK Polar Research Institute, has returned home.
