Professor Gabriel Felbermayr is German Council of Economic Experts!
WU Vienna is excited to announce that WU Professor Gabriel Felbermayr, who also serves as director of the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO), has been nominated by the German federal government to be appointed to the prestigious German Council of Economic Experts.
This council is composed of five senior economic experts who conduct periodic assessments of Germany’s overall economic development from an independent expert perspective.
“Being appointed to the prestigious Council of Economic Experts, a panel of great historical stature, is a true honor for me – not least because Germany, as the world’s third-largest economy, plays a pivotal role in Europe and beyond,” Gabriel Felbermayr said in a press statement.
Gabriel Felbermayr’s work and expertise in research and consulting center around international trade theory and policy, labor market research, and European economic integration.
