Czesław Lang, cyclist, Olympic silver medalist, sports promoter, cycling enthusiast, and director of the Tour de Pologne, visited Dr. Danuty Zawadzkiej, professor and rector of Koszalin University of Technology, on Monday, March 30. The meeting took place in the office of the dean of the Faculty of Economics (WNE) on the university campus on Kwiatkowskiego Street.

Czesław Lang was accompanied by Janusz Siluta from the Lang Team.

Czesław Lang recalled his childhood. “My first bicycle belonged to my mother,” he said of the beginnings of his career. “We rode without helmets, in cotton T-shirts with pockets for food. When the cyclist leaned forward, the food fell out.”

He also spoke about the Tour de Pologne, which he has been organizing with the Lang Team for 35 years: “We have raised the profile of the event to a world-class level. Few countries can boast a cycling race of this caliber.”

Czesław Lang gave a lecture to students, sharing his experiences in sports and business. The first stage of the 2026 Tour de Pologne (starting August 2nd) runs from Gdynia (in celebration of the city's 100th anniversary) to Koszalin (22 teams, 170 participants, 240 km). For Czesław Lang, choosing the Kashubian cities, his homeland where he began his career and to which he always enjoys returning, was a matter close to his heart.

Koszalin will be an important location on the map of this year's race.
