Hundreds of emergency personnel were deployed at the Vienna City Marathon to ensure a safe event.
With around 49,000 runners and hundreds of thousands of spectators, the event once again ranks among Austria’s largest sporting events. Therefore, a comprehensive security concept and seamless cooperation among all those involved are essential.
What is particularly important is the close cooperation between the police, rescue services, the fire department, the City of Vienna, and the event organizer. Many people work behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.
My sincere thanks go to all police officers, emergency personnel, and volunteers who were on duty yesterday.
