Denmark's industrial history, in smoke and steam!
Christina Egelund:
Denmark's industrial history, in smoke and steam!

Today I visited the Industrial Museum in Horsens.
Besides being a truly excellent museum (highly recommended!), it also tells a story about Denmark that plays a crucial role in the election campaign.

Namely, the story of how vital the connection between knowledge, creativity, and innovation is as the driving force behind progress and development.
Creativity, hard work, and innovation are the foundation of the progress Denmark has experienced since the Industrial Revolution.
And that hasn't changed to this day.
From factories and spinning mills to cutting-edge technology: robots, satellites, biotechnology, quantum technology, and much more.
Fortunately, working conditions are significantly better today, but the core remains the same: We build our production on knowledge. We must protect it. It is Denmark's most valuable asset.

It is therefore insufficient, as the Liberals propose, to cut the research budget or, as the Social Democrats suggest, to tax investments in, for example, new technologies. Both would be enormously disadvantageous for today's businesses—especially in times of fierce global competition. China and the USA are already investing significantly more than we are in Europe.
We must ensure that future generations also experience progress—and not the opposite.
Thank you for the tour, David Holt Olsen.
