The research of the interdisciplinary Collaborative Research Centre ELAINE focuses on novel, electrically active implants for the regeneration of bone and cartilage.
Furthermore, research is being conducted on electronic deep brain stimulation, among other things to better treat movement disorders in Parkinson's disease.
With the third funding period, a further 12 million euros from the German Research Foundation (DFG) will now flow into the project. Over the entire duration, which began in 2017, a total of 37 million euros in DFG funding will thus be provided, of which 34.5 million euros will go directly to the participating institutions in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
