Today is the International Day of Remembrance for Police Officers Killed in the Line of Duty.
As a former police chief, I know: Behind every uniform is a human being – with family, friends, and a life full of plans. Some of them never returned from a mission.
Today we remember our colleagues who lost their lives in the line of duty. Their courage and dedication to our society must never be forgotten.
My thoughts are with them and their families, as well as with all the police officers who work every day to ensure our safety.
