After the meeting, Pieter Heerma, Minister for Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations, explained the results of the meeting:

It was very encouraging to hear how we intend to tackle the major challenges facing our country together, with confidence and ambition. Municipalities, provinces, and water authorities are indispensable: They understand better than anyone else what moves citizens, businesses, and regions. And that's precisely why we need each other.

In recent years, cooperation between the Federal Government and other authorities has sometimes been difficult. Therefore, we see it as our duty to restore this relationship. Only through genuine cooperation can we master the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Whether it's about housing, social benefits, asylum, the energy transition or strengthening our democratic rule of law: Together we are stronger.

During our meeting, we discussed how we will address the key societal challenges outlined in the coalition agreement. I look forward to a collaboration in which we mutually strengthen each other, build trust, and create space to make the best use of our strengths.

I have also made it clear: This cabinet fully supports its cabinet colleagues. They must be able to carry out their work safely and effectively.

We look forward to continuing our dialogue with you, Sharon Dijksma, Ina Adema, and Jeroen Haan, on how we can make democracy more resilient, strengthen the regions, and thus restore trust. Because that is the foundation: trust in one another, in our collective strength, and in the future of our country.

"Thank you for the successful introduction! We look forward to working with you", said Pieter Heerma, Minister for Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations.

"It was a good conversation. In the coming months, we will work intensively to achieve good results for our citizens! The country is yearning for progress on many issues that have been stalled for years. It's not up to us to make a difference".
