The Munich-based xR specialists are cooperating with the Taiwanese AR hardware pioneer Jorjin Technologies within the framework of the German-Taiwanese ZIM International funding program.
StellDirVor GmbH, a leading provider of xR and AI solutions for the healthcare sector in German-speaking countries, today announced the official launch of the ARAIAS (AR/AI-enabled Assistance) project together with the Taiwanese AR smart glasses specialist Jorjin Technologies Inc. This joint project is developing an intelligent, augmented reality-based system for chronic wound care and documentation, setting new standards in nursing education and training.
Background and goal of the project:
Chronic wounds affect millions of people and pose enormous challenges for healthcare professionals every day: time-consuming documentation, inconsistent assessments, and a growing shortage of skilled workers exacerbate the situation. ARAIAS addresses these problems with a holistic approach: AR smart glasses, 3D imaging, AI-supported wound analysis, and an integrated tele-nursing function for remote expertise combine to create a seamless, hands-free solution for everyday clinical practice.
The 24-month project is funded under the 8th German-Taiwanese call for joint SME R&D projects (ZIM International). A total of approximately €1.3 million will be invested. While clinical validation takes place in hospitals in Taiwan, Germany will begin testing in nursing schools and simulation laboratories before the solution is implemented in routine clinical practice.
Significance for the German healthcare market:
With ARAIAS, StellDirVor is establishing a first-mover position in the field of AR/AI in the German-speaking healthcare sector. The system addresses several pressing needs simultaneously: improved accuracy in wound diagnostics, significant relief for nursing staff, enhanced hygiene and patient safety, and the development of a new generation of digitally and AI-competent nursing professionals. The solution is consistently aligned with the requirements of the European digital strategy for healthcare and creates the foundation for an interoperable, intelligent healthcare ecosystem.
