Berliner Apotheker-Verein:

Pharmacists and their teams are meeting yesterday for a total of five events. Many pharmacies have closed today, and many teams are gathering at the central demonstrations.

Anke Rüdinger, Chairwoman of the Berlin Pharmacists' Association and Deputy Chairwoman of the German Pharmacists' Association (DAV), highlighted the difficult situation of pharmacies at the rally in front of the Red City Hall in Berlin.

"In Germany, at least one pharmacy closes every day. Every day one less pharmacy means longer distances, longer waiting times, poorer access to medicines, and this is not only the case in rural areas, but also in cities!" Berlin, too, has lost one in five pharmacies in the last ten years. And there's no end in sight to the pharmacy closures. How could there be? Inflation is rising, commercial rents are increasing, energy costs are practically exploding – only the fixed pharmacy fees remain the same.
