The University of Wuppertal
The University of Wuppertal was awarded the title "University with strong gender equality" for the second time in a row in the ProfessorinnenProgramm 2030 – as one of only five universities nationwide.
This special award recognizes the consistently implemented equality concept 2030, which anchors gender equality in governance, personnel development and university culture.
From gender audits in the rectorate and 34 decentralized equal opportunities officers to innovative tools like the gender data portal – the University of Wuppertal is strengthening equality along the entire academic qualification chain.
The proportion of female professors has increased from 14.4% in 2007 to 32.7% in 2024, significantly exceeding the state and national averages.
